Editorial Policy

How EastWise Wellness researches, writes, reviews and corrects its guides on traditional Chinese medicine food therapy, herbal tea, gut health, cycle syncing and healthy aging.

Who writes our content

Every guide is written and edited in-house by the EastWise Wellness editorial team. We are a publisher of educational material, not a medical provider. Our articles do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and they are not a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional.

How we research a topic

We start with the classical Chinese medicine literature that describes food therapy and herbal practice, including the Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic) and the Bencao Gangmu (Compendium of Materia Medica). We then check the modern evidence base through peer-reviewed literature indexed in PubMed and public health summaries from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH).

We separate three things in every article: what a tradition has historically used a herb for, what clinical research has actually tested, and what remains uncertain. When the evidence is thin, we say so rather than presenting tradition as proven fact.

Review before publication

Each article is reviewed before publication for clarity, internal consistency, safety language and the accuracy of its claims. We check that recipes use ordinary culinary amounts, that cautions are stated where herbs can interact with medication or are unsuitable during pregnancy, and that strong claims are softened to match the evidence.

Updates and corrections

Articles show both a publication date and, where relevant, an updated date. We revise a guide when the evidence changes, when a reader reports a factual error, or when we can make an explanation clearer.

If you find an error, email [email protected] with the subject line “Correction” and the URL. We review every report and correct confirmed factual errors. Material changes are reflected in the updated date on the article.

Advertising and independence

Our editorial recommendations are not for sale. Product pages describe our own paid PDF guides; they are clearly labelled and separated from the free journal. We do not publish sponsored articles or accept payment to include a herb, brand or product in an editorial guide.
